Reminding Myself

Teacher:  "How can the rational animal, man, be happy being anything but reasonable?"
Student:  "He cannot."
Teacher:  "Am I happy in direct proportion to how reasonable I'm being?
Student:  "You are."
Teacher:  "So, to be happier I must strive to be more reasonable."
Student:  "Yes."
Teacher:  "Then why do you persist in concerning yourself with what you cannot control?"
Student:  "Because I am unhappy."
