Religion as reality-map in negative

How many generations does it take to establish an angry god in the minds of a people?  Imagine the inertial wave of suffering that must run from generation to generation for thousands of years, short lives spent in struggle; violent death as the norm, childhood death as the norm.  Does an ancient people's concept of god reflect their parenting experiences?

A people's god reflects the edge of the map for these people, the god reflects what is necessary for their world view to make sense, to hold together.  The role their deities play in their thinking and lives reflects their reality-map in negative, we can also infer some things about the interior of their maps, since their deities make necessary sense within their structure:  gods reflect their people.

Gods as pale moons reflecting the light of their believers.
